The only friend difficult and abrasive loudmouth Yozora has is imaginary. A misunderstanding gives new transfer student Kodaka an undeserved bad reputation. Sharing "social catastrophe" status, the two loners unite and create the Neighbors Club, an organization dedicated to finding other misfits and making friends. A third member soon joins them: Sena, a popular, pretty rich girl, who totally annoys Yozora. They develop a rivalry with Kodaka caught in the middle, even as they try to get new members.
